2010 Project: Noratus Cemetery

At Noratus Cemetery, AMAP installed 7 information panels, 4 directional signs, 20 markers, 4 travel trail signs (Kings, Queens & Princes, Cradle of Civilization).

Noratus is most famous for its cemetery, the oldest part of which includes over 800 khachkars (stone crosses), carved between the 9th-17th centuries.

At Aruch, AMAP installed 4 information panels, 3 directional signs, 2 travel trail signs (Kings, Queens & Princes), 4 laser cut markers.

The church is the largest (34.6 x 16.95 m.) of Armenia’s early medieval domed hall type of churches and was built during the reign of Prince Grigor Mamikonian.

The architectural and historical complex of Aghstk includes a 5th century church reconstructed in the 19th century as well as a 4th century crypt housing the bones of the Arshakuni kings

Agarak’s entire site and surrounding area is fully covered by rock-cut and stone carved gigantic structure-complexes, mainly related to the Early Bronze Age period settlement.
