The goal of the project funded by US Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation is to preserve the most critically endangered parts of the ruins of the 10th-Century Dashtadem Fortress (Phase II). AMAP Human Development NGO  continued and finalized the cleaning of the inner citadel and its surrounding wall area and the general site of the remains of modern structures not related to the monument; continued and completed the excavation of the inner citadel and surrounding area, as well as working on cataloging and preservation of historic artifacts found during cleaning and excavation; prepared design and estimate documentation set for restoration and stabilization of the missing part of the fortress inner wall using results of archaeological excavations done in 2015 during Phase I and 2018 Phase II of the project; and will complete partial restoration and reinforcement of the fortress’s inner wall in 2018.
